The Director, ERP Program Management position will work closely with the Customer's CIO's Office and internal customer base to define business scope, methods and approach that will be used to deliver the future phase of ERP solution. Work with cross-functional team members to completely interpret the organizations overall requirements into the appropriate execution plan that balances risk and return with financial outlay. This position also assists the Project Champion with assessing interdependencies with other corporate initiatives and helps to drive risk mitigation with those interdependencies. The ERP Program Manager will be responsible to develop detailed project charter and plan; specifying goals, objectives, strategy, and scope as necessary for each subsequent phase of Customer's ongoing corporate ERP Rollout and to assist in developing the appropriate measures of project success criteria.
This role will be involved with coaching the ERP Project team(s) on resolving constraints, decision-making, conducting productive meetings, directive actions, etc. The Director will have the responsibility of monitoring and tracking of program progress and making mid-course corrections, while keeping the Project Champion and Steering Committee apprised of current status of phased initiatives.
The Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
Use of project management background to coach the ERP project team(s) through the different phases of the project lifecycle.
Coordinate and develop detailed project plans for all future ERP Phases.
Overall project administration, including planning, directing and controlling resources in complex work.
Manage the scope of ERP project sub teams to ensure compliance with business expectations and delivery timelines.
Assist with estimating costs/benefits of future phases of the Corporate ERP initiatives.
Facilitate resolution of issues; escalate issues to project champion.
Prepare and present periodic project reviews with project champion and ERP Steering Committee.
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with cross-functional organizations in support of the ERP related project requirements.
Identify and define project risks and recommend mitigation activities.
Manage the strategic issues and implementation risks/roadblocks related to ERP project phases.
Develop and execute communication and training plans aligned with the Project Champion.
Lead the stabilization and hand-over process to operations post ERP phase implementations.
Develop performance metrics and measurements to track project performance acceptance, cost, and profitability, where applicable.
Use change management skills to accurately capture and report changes that influence the business and work with business leadership and ERP project team to drive appropriate changes in support of initiatives.
Use problem solving skills to facilitate and direct team activities that focus on solving critical issues quickly & to the benefit of the ERP Project.
Contribute to formal frameworks and methodologies for approaching major strategic issues by both leveraging existing intellectual capital and developing innovative concepts.
Participate in resource management and influencing project prioritization for all projects being managed by the ERP team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated ability to think globally/strategically and turn information into effective strategies and drive results
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all Corporate IT functions to manage major IT implementations
Demonstrated experience with preparing RFPs and matrix based vendor selection
Ability to manage diverse stakeholder interests and expectations and influence leaders on strategic direction
Ability to influence across the organization at multiple levels to achieve ERP implementation objectives
Strong experience in the delivery of complex program management, cross-functional business/capability development and change initiatives
Superior interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and manage projects in a cross functional environment,
Ability to work in a matrix environment
Some management consulting experience is a plus, however, there is a preference for experience with internal project accountability within a firm
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related disciplines. MBA/MS is highly desirable.
10-12 years Information Technology or related experience
5-10 years of direct ERP systems implementation experience
At least 3-5 years of experience managing technology projects associated with business transformation projects
5-8 years of experience in an Information Technology leadership role, preferably in organizations during change/transformation stages. |
