Assyst, Northern Virginia – Oct 2008: Prince William County extends Assyst's contract for providing Database Support. Activities carried out under the contract include the following:

  • Database installation, configuration and maintenance including documentation of problems and trouble-shooting reports related to Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases

  • Development of stored procedures, triggers, functions and security schemes as are required for the business and workflows at the County

  • Database reports development using County-supported reporting tools

  • Data modeling support for interfacing with various applications and databases

  • Database optimization and performance tuning

  • Suggestions and recommendations relating to latest trends pertaining to Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases and related technologies

  • Maintenance of database inventory including maintenance of logs and schedules for renewal of database vendor’s maintenance contract

  • Integration of multiple database management systems within the County and extraction and interface formatting of data stored in various database management systems

  • Maintaining clear vision and in-depth knowledge of the County’s business application data structures, stored procedures and reports to include tidemark permit plan and performance.

  • Providing support for database migration from current environment to enhanced environments.

  • Backup/Recovery and Disaster Planning for database and database objects

  • Developing database and information security plans and providing assistance for security audits
