Applications

ASSYST provides application services that support applications ranging in size and for various business needs. These services include developing and implementing enterprise and departmental level applications that are specific to a single business function or cross-functional in nature, with inter-related services. The applications implemented by ASSYST are aligned with the FEA/DoDEA Service Component Reference Model (SRM). ASSYST’s Applications Services enable the advancement of business and mission objectives of the agency. ASSYST’s expertise includes detailed and specific knowledge of commercially available technologies such as Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS). ASSYST’s competencies include Enterprise Architectures (EAs) that are developed and implemented in alignment with the FEA. ASSYST provides complete life cycle management including planning, analysis, research and development, design, development, integration and testing, implementation, operations and maintenance, information assurance, disposition and retirement of applications. These services include support for existing, new and emerging technology in support of mission requirements. The following represents the areas and capabilities supported by ASSYST:


Customer Services – These services comprise the activities that are directly related to an internal or external customer, the agency’s interaction with the customer and what that customer is experiencing. ASSYST’s expertise in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is expansive covering all the aspects of the CRM process, including planning, scheduling, and quality control activities. Our experience includes facilitating requirements for managing and coordinating customer interactions across multiple communication mediums and functional business units. As a strategic partner ASSYST works with agencies to tailor customer preferences relative to interaction requirements and acceptable information delivery mechanisms. Using various technologies and a variety of techniques, ASSYST helps agencies initiate service requests and provides assistance using online communication channels. ASSYST’s capabilities enrich an agency’s ability to plan, schedule and control the activities between the customer and the enterprise. ASSYST provides agencies with the functionality required to allow customers to proactively seek assistance and service from the organization.

Process Automation – ASSYST provides Process Automation Services that facilitates processes associated with tracking, monitoring and maintaining data, information, and communications throughout the business cycle. ASSYST has expertise to automate the routing, tracking, and management of documents for workflow processes, case management, conflict resolution and various other government functions. ASSYST is experienced in routing and scheduling for the automated distribution and scheduling activities such as inbound and outbound correspondence. ASSYST provides automatic directing, assignment and allocation of time for a particular action or event. ASSYST’s capabilities support the automation of process and management activities that assist in effectively managing the business.

Business Management – ASSYST’s Business Management capabilities and services are directed toward projects, programs and planning to successfully manage a significant business operation. This involves areas such as Process Management, Organizational Management, Investment Management, and Supply Chain Management:

  • Process Management - Development and implementation of standard methodologies and automated process management systems, to facilitate agencies’ requirements for managing and monitoring activities surrounding their core business operations
  • Organizational Management – Team Structure, collaboration and communication activities
  • Investment Management - Selecting, managing, and evaluating agencies’ investments and capital portfolio
  • Supply Chain Management - All aspects of supply chain management, from the initial sourcing phase through customer delivery
ASSYST’s Business Management Services possess the capabilities to support the management of business functions and agency activities that maintain continuity across the business and value-chain. These activities represent those capabilities and services offered by ASSYST that are necessary for projects, programs and planning within the business operation to successfully be managed. The services include regulating the activities surrounding the business cycle, supporting the collaboration and communication within the organization, and managing the financial assets and capital of the agency.

Digital Asset Services – This service area supports the generation, management and distribution of intellectual capital and electronic media across the business and extended enterprise. It includes areas such as Content Management, Document Management, Knowledge Management, and Records Management:

  • Content Management - Content development, maintenance, updates, and distribution
  • Document Management - Capturing, indexing, and maintaining documents
  • Knowledge Management - Collecting and processing data from multiple sources and generating information to support business requirements
  • Records Management - Administration of official government records
ASSYST’s Digital Asset Services include capabilities that manage the storage, maintenance and retrieval of documents and information of a system or Web site, the control, capture and maintenance of agency documents and files, and the identity, gathering and transforming of documents, reports and other sources into meaningful information. ASSYST services include storing, protecting, archiving, classifying and retiring documents and information.

Business Analytical Services – This service area supports the extraction, aggregation and presentation of information to facilitate decision analysis and business analytics. These areas include Analysis and Statistics, Visualization, Discovery, Business Intelligence, and Reporting:

  • Analysis and Statistics - Applying analysis and statistics to examine and resolve business issues
  • Visualization - Transforming data into graphical or image form
  • Discovery - Identifying and extracting information from multiple data source containing files stored in various formats
  • Business Intelligence - Collecting information relevant to historical, existing, or future business needs
  • Reporting - Generating reports derived from single or multiple data sources
ASSYST’s capabilities include examining and analyzing business issues, problems and their solutions, converting data into graphical or picture form, providing information that pertains to the history, current status and future projections of the agency.

Back Office Services – These services support the management charged with enterprise planning and transactional-based functions within the organization. The service areas comprising Back Office Services include Data Management, Human Resources, Financial Management, Asset/Material Management, Development and Integration, Human Capital/Workforce Management, and Development and Integration:

  • Data Management - Creating, using, processing, and managing data resources
  • Human Resources - Recruitment, training, and management of government personnel
  • Financial Management - Government financing and accounting activities such as billing and accounting, credit/charge, expense management, payroll, payment and settlement, debt collection, revenue management, internal controls, auditing, activity based management, currency translation
  • Asset and Material Management - Acquisition and management of Federal government assets such as property/asset management, asset cataloging and identification, asset transfer, allocation, and maintenance, facilities management, computers and automation management
  • Development and Integration - Development and integration of systems across diverse operating platforms including legacy integration, enterprise application integration, data integration, instrumentation and testing, software development
  • Human Capital and Workforce Management Development and Integration - Planning and supervisory operations surrounding government personnel
ASSYST supports the management of enterprise planning and transactional-based functions. Our capabilities provide for the usage, processing and general administration of unstructured information, the accounting practices and procedures that allow for the handling of revenues, funding and expenditures, and the planning and supervision of an organization’s personnel. Other areas of expertise include recruitment and management of personnel, supporting the acquisition, oversight and tracking of an organization's assets, and providing communication between hardware and software applications and the activities associated with deployment of software applications.

Support Services – ASSYST’s Support Services provide capabilities ranging across functions that can be leveraged independently based on the objective and/or mission of the Agency. These services include Security Management, Collaboration, Search, Communications, Systems Management, and Forms Management:

  • Security Management - Assuring desired levels of protection for Federal systems, data, and related assets are achieved such as identification/authentication, access control, encryption, intrusion detection, verification, digital signature, user management, role/privilege management, audit trail capture/analysis
  • Collaboration - Communications, messaging, information sharing, scheduling and task management activities such as email, threaded discussions, document library, shared calendaring, task management
  • Search - Searching, querying, and retrieving data from multiple sources such as precision, recall ranking, classification, pattern matching
  • Communications - Voice, data, and video communications in multiple formats and protocols to include real time chat, instant messaging, audio, video conferencing, event/news management, community management support, computer, telephony integration, voice communications
  • Systems Management - All aspects of systems management for example software distribution/license management, configuration and installation, remote systems control, enhancements and service updates, system resource monitoring, helpdesk support and issue tracking
  • Forms Management - Creating, managing, and processing online forms to support business operations, forms creation, and modifications
ASSYST helps agencies protect information and information systems, securely transmit data, messages and information in multiple formats and protocols, and allow for the concurrent, simultaneous communication and sharing of content, schedules, messages and ideas within an organization. ASSYST provides for the probing and lookup of specific data from a data source, supports the administration and upkeep of an agency’s technology assets, including the hardware, software, infrastructure, licenses and components that comprise those assets, and supports the creation, modification, and usage of physical or electronic documents used to capture information during the business cycle.

DODEA Mission Area Support - ASSYST provides support of the DoDEA relating to DoD’s specialized mission, business, and program areas. ASSYST incorporates the policies and procedures that have been formalized for maintaining, evolving, and using the DoDEA reference models. The DoDEA reference models leverage existing DoD standards and reflect the alignment with the FEA. ASSYST’s capabilities include IT support services for DoD’s Global Information Grid (GIG) architecture, Business, Warfighter, Intelligence, and Enterprise Information Environment (EIE) mission areas.
