    ASSYST, Northern Virginia – March 2008: ASSYST wins Amtrak project to support the Marketing and Product Management (M&PM) Department of Amtrak.  M&PM is responsible for the implementation and support of a number of distribution channels applications that support Amtrak's Web content, call center application, station agent application, voice response, and the travel agency.  Other areas of system operations support provided by ASSYST include Internet mail system, mapping application, and customer relationship management application.

    Amtrak IT is engaged in application operational support, which involves monitoring of application components for stability and performance, and resolution of operational problems stemming from the potential network, server, and other hardware related problems.

    This contract requires ASSYST to provide Operations Analysis services to analyze the performance of the distribution channel applications and supporting applications, and to communicate details regarding performance status, relevant operational problems and events to the Senior Management of the Amtrak M&PM Department and the Distribution Channels’ Business owners.

    ASSYST is helping Amtrak to improve the process for systems’ performance reporting resulting in better communications with IT customers.  Through this contract, ASSYST will provide Amtrak with Operations Analysis services for all distribution channels and supporting applications.

    ASSYST, Northern Virginia - February 2008: ASSYST wins the Customer Service Performance Metrics Information (CSPMI) project contract from Amtrak’s Marketing and Product Management (“M&PM”) Department.  The objective of the project is to improve management control over customer services in order to increase the customer base, which will in turn elevate revenues.

    As part of the assignment, ASSYST will configure the Business Intelligence tools available at Amtrak and perform integration and transformation of data, leading to actionable information analytics and business performance reporting. Development of business-oriented meta-data definitions as well as development and maintenance of dashboards with drill-down facility will also form part of the services being offered.

    ASSYST, Sterling, VA – January 2008: ASSYST is awarded a service agreement to provide assistance to Amtrak Information Technology Department in multiple capital, enhancement and state of good repair projects in the Washington, DC area. Under this Master Contract Agreement, ASSYST will be providing various services to improve the CSPMI (Customer Service Performance Metrics Information). 

    Amtrak has created a number of client, client/server, server, web and multi-tier applications using various generations of development languages and tools provided by or compatible with Microsoft.  These include VB5, ASP, C, C++, ASP, .NET, VB .NET, C#, SQL Server 7 and 2000, MSMQ, SharePoint, Kronos, Business Objects and Host Integration server, among others.  Some applications include generally available third-party components such as Crystal Reports, JavaScript or LDAP.

    These applications are in various stages of the software life cycle.  Some have been recently developed while others are approaching the end of their useful life.  In addition, changes in business requirements, technical capabilities or corporate policy may require changes or additions to some of these applications, or the creation of new applications to augment or replace systems.  ASSYST will provide support in all of the above technologies and life cycle activities mentioned above.

ASSYST is providing IT services to support systems used to operate three distribution centers, all in Wisconsin, including a new 1.1 million square foot facility.  The system ASSYST supports is helping to supply a select group of independent retailers in the upper Midwest in addition to company-owned stores.     ASSYST, Sterling, VA – December 2007: ASSYST is awarded the contract for providing Oracle Database Maintenance and Support for Prince William County Government.  ASSYST will support the County's Information Services Division, which is responsible for database administration and applications development for the government. Support for the database systems includes applications development as well. 

     

    Prince William County supports five major non-Public Safety systems that utilize Oracle databases running on HP/UX servers. The main business applications that the County uses with the Oracle databases include Documentum for electronic document management and ESRI’s GIS (Geographic Information System) apart from purchasing, accounting, and other financial business applications.

     

    The contract includes supporting the Human Resources Management System, the Permit Plan Land Information System (which is used for the issuance and tracking of permit applications), the Prince William County Public Safety Systems, Oracle based systems at Fire and Police Departments, SafetyPAD for emergency services, and DSI’s Jail Management System for Adult Detention Center.
